Tests
- Blood tests. Genetic tests to rule out syndromes. Blood investigations to rule out deficiency of certain vitamins and factors
- CT scan or MRI of brain to localise the lesion. Required in special cases where diagnosis is in doubt or for localising specific lesion causing epilepsy
- Electroencephalogram (EEG) for diagnosis of convulsions. EEG forms the basis of further medical treatment of seizures
- Hearing screen. Multiple tests are available for early diagnosis. Please read our article on ENT problems for details
- Vision testing. Problems may be in the eye or because of cortical problems.
- Development quotient(DQ) and intelligence quotient(IQ)
