Mr Sathe
When our son was born our joy knew no bounds. He was having low birth weight and we needed to keep him in intensive care for 2 months. He developed a delay in developmental milestones. He started sitting by 2 years and walking with support by 5 years. We were very patient and did regular physiotherapy. Now he is 28 years old and is able to do his daily activities. He is very intelligent and has learnt to use the computer. I am a chartered accountant and he helps me in my work. I am very happy with his progress and urge everyone to be patient with these children.
Mrs. Ranpise
My daughter was born prematurely when she was 7 months old. She was urgently shifted to intensive care unit and was put on ventilator. We were concerned about the health of our baby but the doctors assured us that she will be fine. She developed neck holding at 6 months and started walking at 5 years. She is now passed 10th standard with 70% marks and has made us proud. She wants to become a nurse and we will help her in pursuing her dream.
Mr Kharade
My son was born full term but did not cry after birth due to some problem. He was place in intensive care. He developed jaundice (yellow discoloration of skin) for which he took treatment in the form of phototherapy and blood transfusion. However he developed some damage because of which he has abnormal movements. He understands everything but has difficulty in walking. We have given him a wheelchair and now he moves around the house and in the colony independently. We are very happy that he is able to take care of himself. Our message to all parents is that they should decide a goal for their children and act accordingly. The child may not become 100% normal but one must not loose hope.
